Make sure some one can not reach through open windows and unlock doors,
Get to know all your adjacent neighbors,
Communicate about suspicious people and vehicles report these to your Local Law Enforcement,
Remember to secure doors and windows on vehicles while parked either in drive way or on a quick run to the store,
While neighbors are on vacation – pick up news papers and flyers for them; Offer to park your car in their driveway
Use interior and exterior light timers to establish a pattern of occupancy
Use lighting along the walkway and at your doorways
Use lighted motion sensors; a wide variety can be found at your local hardware store to include solar options
Use effective alarm systems, with signage that is visible from the roadway
Make sure your notification list is up to date with Alarm Company
Install a safe away from the master bedroom and change the code periodically
Photograph and record serial numbers to valuables
Duplicate the contents of your wallet by Xeroxing and secure the information, in case you have to quickly report
the items stolen and or missing.
